In Reception the children have been following a pretty intensive phonics program. The phonics they learn will lead to early reading and writing skills which many of the children are mastering rapidly.
Here are some ways in which you can support your child with phonics development at home. Children need to practice skills in daily as they have short memories at this age!
Starfall Learn to Read
This a great website that focuses on early skills in reading. It starts with single letter sounds and then moves onto small words and more complex letter sounds.
Reading Bear
This website also deals with letter sounds and early reading skills.
Mr. Thorne Does Phonics
This is an awesome website created by a British teacher. There are videos and tutorials found here.
Jolly Phonics free resources
Here you can find a number of resources that you can print and use at home to support your child's phonics development.
