Term 2- week 8: February 27-March 3rd 2017
We have had a great first week back from holidays!
Today we completed our reading level checks
and I was very pleased to see that all students have made progress from last
term in both their decoding and comprehension levels!! Each student has had a personal interview of up to an hour where I can get a clear idea about how far their reading and comprehension skills have progressed. New guided reading groups
will begin next week according to the results.
Next week we will be having school photos. Please remember to wear
full uniform on Tuesday for our class photo.
We have begun out newest Unit about how learning about how people lived in the past can help us to progress today. Our first week is about "Tuning In" on the subject so we have been discussing what students already know about the past and what their ideas are now. Students had a chance to make a short skit about a family life 100 years ago and act it out for the class. Everyone remembered to use the presentation skills.
