Term 2- week 9: March 6th-10th 2017
This week we have had more Math assessments on some very tricky subjects;
Fractions, Multiplication, Division and telling time!! I am very proud of how
hard all the students have been working to learn and master these topics.
We also had our school photos, which was enjoyed by everyone. The
photos will be available soon to take home.
Moving on in our Inquiry Unit students have been looking at the concept
of the past and their own past. Students
work to create their own timelines and think about the passing of time in one
year vs. one month or 3 years ago.
We have also started to work on Non-Chronological reports in
English. Students have learnt about the features of a report and are not going
to do a little research on the internet and write their reports themselves.
Lots of fun at our photo shoot! Here are a few previews! I couldn't get them all since I was called to step out for an important meeting.
Students were working hard in the ICT computer lab doing research using "REXKIDS" a safe online searching tool. They found several facts about their animals to use in their non-chronological reports.

This week we continued our good work on
Non Chronological reports with the students choosing a topic to write about.
Students wrote an introduction and then though of questions to ask to find
out information about their animal. Students then visited the ICT room to
search for the answers online.

Continue to write our Non Chronological reports.
