Term 2- week 4: January 23th- 27th 2017
Such a busy week we have
had. Sports Day on Tuesday and Chinese New Year celebration on Friday! It was
very nice to all the parents who were able to join for these events. (and beat
us at tug of war) I will post lots of pictures on our blog for you to
upload/see.
Since all students returned their books last weekend- they have
taken home another nonfiction book from our classroom library to enjoy for the
weekend. Could you please help your child to remember to bring it back on
Monday again? Thank you.
The students have just starting planning their own invention;
there are lots of creative ideas and everyone is exciting about their
creations. They are using up all our recyclable materials very quickly, so if
you could please send any more recyclable materials it would be appreciated.
Everyone had such a fun day for sports day!! Everyone joined their houses : Vikings, Titans, Trojans and Aztecs to try different activities and games together.
Chinese New Year
What an impressive show for Chinese New Year for 2017! We had dancing dragons to greet us at the gate in the morning and amazing shows filled with singing and dancing from Primary as well as Secondary to entertain us.

This week we made posters about forces
as part of our ‘sorting out’ phase of inquiry. We began making plans for our
own simple machines that use forces. There were some interesting ideas for
sure. The students also discussed their ideas and plans to see if they could
be made easily, what materials are needed and what the purpose of their
machine is.
|
·
We will be going
further and building our designs and test them out.
